Recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) / Ministry of AYUSH and affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna (and Bihar University of Health Sciences), the college offers the professional Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree program. The institution serves as a historical center for traditional medicine in central Bihar, integrating core Samhita textual scholarship with contemporary clinical diagnostics. Clinical instruction is conducted through its attached government teaching hospital, which features operational outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) clinical wards, dedicated Panchakarma therapeutic rooms, clinical pathology and diagnostic laboratories, and cultivated botanical herbal gardens for practical pharmacognosy instruction across the region
