Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 May 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the counselling and advisory services provided by Shikkha (“we”, “us”), accessible through shikkha.in, our WhatsApp channels and in-person/virtual sessions.

By engaging our services, registering with us, or messaging us on WhatsApp, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services We Provide

Shikkha offers:

  • NEET counselling and rank-based admission guidance.
  • Information on government and private medical/dental colleges.
  • Assistance with registration, choice-filling and seat allotment for state and central counselling rounds.
  • Document preparation and verification support.
  • Ongoing updates and reminders via WhatsApp, SMS and email.

We are a counselling and advisory service. We do not represent or act on behalf of any counselling authority, university, or government body. Final admissions are subject to the rules and decisions of the relevant counselling authority.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older, or have parental/guardian consent, to engage our services. You must provide accurate information, including correct NEET roll number, scores and personal details. Providing false information may result in termination of services without refund.

4. Payment and Packages

  • Service fees are quoted at the time of enrolment and are payable as per the agreed schedule (single payment or instalments).
  • All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
  • A receipt will be issued for every payment made.
  • Failure to pay instalments on time may result in suspension or termination of services.

5. Refunds and Cancellation

Refunds, if any, are governed by the specific package or agreement you signed at enrolment. Counselling-authority registration fees, third-party charges and services already rendered are non-refundable. For specific refund queries, contact support@shikkha.in.

6. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information.
  • Submit required documents within the deadlines we communicate.
  • Make timely decisions during the counselling process (e.g. choice locking, document upload, fee payment).
  • Respond to our WhatsApp, SMS or email communications about your case in a timely manner.
  • Treat our staff with respect during all interactions.

7. WhatsApp and Communication Consent

By sharing your WhatsApp number with us, you consent to receive counselling-related messages on WhatsApp, including:

  • Registration and document-upload reminders.
  • Choice-filling slot notifications.
  • Allotment results and reporting instructions.
  • Payment reminders and receipts.
  • General updates from your counselling team.

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP or emailing us. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

8. No Guarantee of Admission

Final admission to any college depends on the counselling authority's allotment process and your NEET rank, category and choice preferences. While we provide expert guidance, we do not guarantee admission to any specific college or course.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on shikkha.in — including text, graphics, logos, rank-prediction tools, course material and templates — is owned by Shikkha and protected under applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or commercialise our content without written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shikkha's liability for any claim arising out of our services is limited to the amount of fees you paid us in the previous 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of admission opportunities due to factors beyond our control (e.g. counselling-authority rule changes, system outages, your delayed response).

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate services if you breach these Terms, provide false information, fail to make payments, or behave inappropriately with our staff. You may terminate the engagement at any time, subject to the refund terms applicable to your package.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Kolkata, West Bengal.

13. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page with the “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
