West Bengal MBBS & BDS Round 2 Counselling 2026: Merit List Published, Seat Matrix Out, Choice Filling Now Open

The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has published the Round 2 Merit List for MBBS and BDS admissions 2026-27, marking the next stage of the state's UG Medical and Dental Counselling process. Candidates who registered for Round 2 can now check their updated merit position and rank on the official WBMCC UG Medical & Dental Counselling portal ahead of choice filling. 

Alongside the merit list, WBMCC has also released the Round 2 Seat Matrix, printed on 12th September 2026, covering MBBS and BDS seats across Government Medical Colleges, State Government Dental Colleges, and a wide range of Private University/Institute colleges throughout West Bengal. With the seat matrix now live, Choice Filling for Round 2 has officially started, and candidates must complete it before the deadline of 10:00 AM on 14th September 2026 via their login on wbmcc.nic.in.

• Several private colleges also offer seats under the NRI Quota, in addition to State Quota and Management Quota seats — for instance, Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, KPC Medical College and Hospital, and PKG Medical College & Hospital all list NRI Quota seats in the Round 2 matrix.

• Choice Filling for Round 2 has begun and candidates must lock in their preferences before the deadline.

• Last Date for Choice Filling: 10:00 AM, 14th September 2026 — candidates should complete their choice list well before this cut-off to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Key Eligibility for Round 2 Choice Filling

• Candidates must have a valid NEET-UG 2026 score and have registered for WBMCC counselling.

• Both candidates continuing from Round 1 (upgrade seekers) and fresh/un-allotted candidates participating for the first time in Round 2 can fill choices, subject to WBMCC's rules for this round.

• Candidates competing for State Quota seats must meet the West Bengal domicile requirement, with a valid domicile certificate where applicable.

• Candidates claiming SC, ST, OBC, or EWS reservation must hold a valid category certificate consistent with their original NEET-UG application, as category status is generally not open to fresh declaration at this stage.
